 Section 1: Introduction

This student handbook serves as a reference guide with a simple design and easy-to-follow skill guides for basic life support (BLS). For the purpose of this program, the term abase means recognition of signs of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), heart attack, stroke, and foreign-body obstruction (FBAO); cardiopulmonary resuscitation gap's . and defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator (AED).3 This program is intended for community members and people who do not work in the healthcare field but are required or just desire to have AED knowledge and skills.
